Artist in Residence.

I was delighted be invited to be Artist in Residence for ITV’s Love Your Weekend hosted by Alan Titchmarsh.  Filming took place at the series home location at Manor Farm in Hampshire where I was invited to spend time on location to create a painting of the farm grounds. y painting and interview with Alan can be seen on Episode 24, Series 5 – originally aired on ITV on October 1st 2023 . Manor Farm and the surrounding Hampshire countryside is completely idyllic  - almost not ‘of this time’ on some of the quieter lanes.  The weather on filming day was changeable but I enjoyed the challenge of chasing a changing light caused by a flurry of sunny spells mixed in with rain. The day was less pressured than that of Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year and I had an opportunity to savour the timeless qualities of the farm and its surrounding countryside. In these quieter moments, I was able to reflect and draw on that sense of place to pick up the essentials. Hopefully it shows in my response and the finished piece.

I’m thrilled that my painting will now remain as a permanent feature at Manor Farm. I’m indebted to the wonderful Alan Titchmarsh and incredibly helpful team on Love Your Weekend for a warm welcome to the farm.
