Commissions.

It all begins with an idea.

 .

It’s always satisfying and exciting to be able to respond a bespoke request where clients have found something that speaks to them personally in my approach and I’m happy to work together to create a commissioned piece of art.

THE PROCESS:

CONSULTATION:

1: FIrst steps would be an email from you with your initial enquiry details.

Once I have your initial email, I’ll contact you to arrange a phone call between us to establish an outline of your requirements; timescales, subject and ideas for a bespoke piece.

2: After that initial exchange of ideas and assuming you are happy to proceed, I would ask for a non-refundable deposit, of £100 (deducted from the final quoted fee) to secure your commission.

I’m happy to look at any photo reference images you may already have but generally prefer to discuss site visits to capture new reference material and meet you in person to discuss your brief.  Depending on location, this may incur an additional fee which I would discuss with you prior to starting your commission.

3: I then start work on some compositional sketches which I share with you by email to give you a feel for my suggested perspective and to establish that you’re happy with composition. (There would be a 10% of final cost for this stage – deductible from final cost)

4:Once we’ve agreed the composition, size, timescales I’ll ask you to pay a non-refundable deposit of 20% of the final total. I’ll also send a short contract of agreement which states payment terms, size and dimensions, delivery etc.

5: Final step is for me to work on creating your piece in my studio. I’ll keep in touch with you throughout but would expect to be in a position to deliver your piece in approximately 4-7 weeks from our initial briefing. This gives time for me to share initial compositional sketches and for us to chat through any preferences as well as having time for the oil paints to dry and framing. Balance will become payable on delivery of your final piece and I often prefer to deliver my commissions in person too.

FEES:

As a very loose guide, my fee for a landscape painting varies from approximately £1,650 for a medium size piece at approximately 50cm x 45cm (image size without frame) and from £1900 (image size without frame) for a larger piece at 60cm x 55cm. All fees include high quality, hand finished bespoke framing as part of your completed painting.

RETURNS: Unfortunately, I am unable to accept returns once you have taken possession of the painting.

One of my client reviews:

“I was fortunate to see Anne’s work on Sky’s Landscape Artist of the Year show and loved her work, the way she captured light and movement and how she came across. I reached out and my wife & I commissioned a piece for my ‘big birthday’!

From the start Anne was brilliant to deal with she. She drove over to meet us, spent hours seeing our favourite views and visiting special places. Anne then produced at least 5 colour sketches. All were lovely, but we chose the one we liked best.

When ready Anne delivered the painting in person, beautifully framed and spent a good hour with us talking about it, her process and being on telly! She even helped us get an idea of where it would look best.

The picture is stunning, the whole process made it a real experience and I would definitely recommend Anne Byrne without reservation.

Thank you Anne”
